The Bystander

A jewish family abducted by German soldiers during WW2 portrayed through a neutral text called 'The situation' and through the eyes of five persons – 'The girl', 'The soldier', 'The boy', 'The child' and 'The mother'. All texts are accompanied by the same photo. Each text will provide a new interpretation of the role of the woman in the photo – is she a victim, a bystander, a perpetrator. In collaboration with The Living History Forum and their exhibition on the role of the bystander in conflicts.
