Alphabet Prime
15 x 23 cm, 68 pp., ed. Maia Gianakos
Alphabet Prime is a biannual arts journal presenting critical texts, artist contributions, and fictional works, among other content. The publication takes as its focus the problem of language in contemporary discourse, and its limitations within the established framework of "theory."
Alphabet Prime was initiated by Maia Gianakos, an independent writer, curator, and editor. It comes out of research and preparation done in conjunction with CuratorLab at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts, and Design, Stockholm.
The inaugural Fall 2009 issue is organized around the notion of "Scripting". It comes with a full-color insert from Goldin+Senneby's ongoing project, Headless, and includes critical texts, short (non-)fictional works, and artists' works and words from:
Asli Cavusoglu
